Labelling rating plates
Rating plates communicate critical technical data, including manufacturer, serial/model number, date of manufacture, load rating, electrical specifications, operating/maintenance instructions, and other required data.
In addition, the rating plates on electrical, electronic, and household appliances are subject to a wide range of harsh environmental conditions depending on the function of the product:
- Heat for an oven or refrigerator motor
- Abrasion and dust for a drill
- Cleaning chemicals or corrosive food products for a kitchen appliance
Current regulations
Within the range of ARMOR-IIMAK Thermal Transfer ribbons there are solutions for complying with EU Directives 2011/65/EC (RoHS) and 2002/96/EC (WEEE), as well as meeting the restrictions of halogen contents and the UL standard on printed label durability.
Why using thermal transfer technology for this application ?
Thermal transfer printing technology for rating plate labeling
Within the range of ARMOR-IIMAK ribbons, the Resin inks (AXR® range) are highly suitable for the synthetic materials generally used for nameplates.
The high level of adhesion of the Resin inks to the label surface protects the print from aggressive attack: abrasion, solvents, heat, fats, cold, UV, etc.
For this application, we recommend the following products:
